Pocketbook books cannot be opened because they are digital books that are stored in a specific file format that requires a compatible e-reader device or application to access. These files are encrypted to prevent unauthorized access and distribution, which is why they cannot be opened without the proper software. Additionally, Pocketbook books may also be protected by digital rights management (DRM) technology, further restricting access to the content. **

The Pocketbook may not be responding anymore due to a variety of reasons. It could be a result of a software or hardware malfunction, such as a frozen screen, depleted battery, or a system crash. Additionally, physical damage or water exposure could also be causing the device to not respond. It is important to troubleshoot the issue by trying to restart the device, charging the battery, or seeking technical support if the problem persists. **
